Noah Andzongo Noah Andzongo is from Cameroon , Central Africa . He is a former member of the National Ballet of Cameroon, Esuah and Baobab Dance Companies. In 1985, Noah began his professional career under the guidance and teachings of Kengmo Mooh, the founding director of Baobab International and one of the most talented teachers and choreographers of traditional African dance. Noah performed throughout Cameroon and conducted dance workshops at the elementary, high school and college levels. Noah and the Baobab Dance Company have performed several times at the Palais des Congress for the President of Cameroon at his annual celebrations. Noah founded his own dance company “ Africa-Labina ” in 1992. The company had performances in Gabon , Ivory Coast and Zaire ( Congo ). Noah and his company were awarded the Diploma of African Excellence, one of the top honors in the world of dance for his choreography “ Alok a Dzal ” (The Fishing Dance) and for outstanding performance as a group. Recognizing his talents as a choreographer and performer, the Cameroonian Committee of Cultural Affairs selected Noah Andzongo as artistic director to assemble the dancers and drummers who would represent Cameroon at the 1994 World Cup Soccer event in Los Angeles , California . Noah has resided in Los Angeles since 1994. He has performed at UCLA, International Festival of Masks, and The African Marketplace and has opened for the Rolling Stones World Tour “Voodoo Lounge” at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena . He has taught master classes at the LA Museum of Art, Watts Towers , College of the Canyons, Occidental and Pomona Colleges and the Main Street Dance Studio in Santa Monica . He is currently teaching at the Lula Washington Dance Theatre in Los Angeles . Noah Andzongo is available for group and private instruction, workshops, residencies and school assemblies.
